A member asked:

I'm wondering are hyperopic people at risk for retinal detachment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Myopia (nearsightedness) is a risk factor for retinal detachment, not hyperopia (farsightedness). That being said, plenty of hyperopic patients can get a retinal detachment as there are other risk factors involved.
