Injured in mccall, id. doctor wants to image my wound to see if any foreign bodies are present. is that right?

Possibly: Depending on where you fell and how large and "dirty" the lesion appears, it could be prudent for the doctor to make sure there's no foreign body that could cause an infection to spread. If you were engaging in outdoor activity involving dirt, that likely would raise his/her concern.
