Pulmonary function: Pulmonary function testing is used to provide physicians with insight into whether a person has 'normal' lung function or that associated with certain disease states. These tests can give a profile of lung function to help differentiate certain forms of obstructive lung disease such as COPD or asthma from forms of restrictive lung disease like sarcoidosis.
