Constipation: You are doing the correct things to combat constipation. The frequency of bowel movements among my patients is highly variable. Some people only have bowel movements every few days. If you feel ok, then having one movement daily is great! if you still feel constipated, talk with your doctor about using stool softeners.

It sounds normal BUT: Frequency of bowel movements varies from person to person. Having bowl movements once a day, several times a day or once every few days can be normal. What is important is if there has been a change from your normal bowel movement frequency. Changes can be due to changes in diet, stress or underlying illness. If you have had a change in bowel frequency that persists you need to see your doctor.
