Need To Diagnose The: Cause of ulcer (pu). Bacteria called helicobactor pylori- the commonest cause of chronic pu. Diagnosis preferably made by GI doctor by upper GI endoscopy/biopsy, urea breath test, etc. Acute ulcer: many causes, e.g. Non-steroidal anti inflammatory agents (ibuprofen, etc), corrosive ingestion, stress/burn, etc. Treatment as per cause. For h. Pylori, 3 medicines taken for 2 weeks. See your doc.
