Need to wait: Ultrasound evidence of male or female genitalia is really the only mostly reliable way of knowing the sex of your baby. Unfortunately, the genitalia cannot be clearly seen until somewhere between 16-20 weeks, usually closer to 20 weeks. When you have your 20 week anatomy ultrasound, this is when they can typically tell the sex and tell you. I'm sorry, i know it's difficult to wait so long!

Baby gender: At 8 weeks (2 months) along, it is too early to tell the sex of the baby. Although the gender is determined by the 13th week, it is still very difficult to see on ultrasound. Therefore, for a more accurate best guess, most wait until between 18-26 weeks to visualize on ultrasound.
