A member asked:

How to distinguish axillary lymphedenitis causedby staph from intriginous yeast infection of armpit?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

1st step: Yeast has the appearance of confluent redness- worse in crease and small red bumps in the periphery. Generally there is no fever or pain with yeast (itchy). So if fever, pain, pus or spreading outside of axilla go see your doc. If not, try lotrimin (clotrimazole) for a week or so, use powder to keep area dry, avoid deodorant :( , reduce the sugars in your diet and see if it improves.
