What blood tests can help diagnose paraneoplastic syndrome?

Serum Ab: It is a clinical diagnosis. But detection of some well characterized paraneoplastic antibodies in serum or CSF can be helpful. For example, anti-hu (encephalomylitis/sclc), anti-yo (cerebellar degeneration/breast or gyn cancer), anti-calcium channel (lambert-eaton syndrome), etc. Of note, negative antibody does not exclude the diagnosis.
