Unclear: There are multiple causes, but the two most common reasons would be infection versus a tumor. Lymph nodes are the "recycling centers" of your body and if you have an infection of your arm or hand, the lymph nodes will become swollen. Some cancers can also form lumps underneath the arm. See your doctor for a thorough evaluation.
