A member asked:

I have a lump in my inner gum beneath my right lower premolars. lump is very small 1/4th an inch. it does not pain, neither is it visible. cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not cancer: In order to keep the mouth moist there are salivary glands such as the submax and parotid glands. The remainder of the mouth, cheek ahd gums have small minor salivry glands that occassional develop benign growths . In rare cases they enlarge fast and can be malignant such as adenoid cystic carcinoma.
