Given shot of terbutaline, didn't help & i'm left w/ contractions & massive headache. online this drug seems unsafe n not proven to help. why give it?

Terbutaline: Terbutaline will sometimes stop your contractions long enough(36-48 hours) to give you a steroid treatment that will help the lung maturity of your baby as well as lessen other problems if the baby delivers early. Other drugs are used more commonly now as terbutaline can cause problems. There is no drug that you can take every day that will prolong your pregnancy. These are only short term.
