Some do, some don't: Each birth-control method has a different side-effect profile and this is used to aid in the choice for you. Depo-provera injections are more likely to cause weight gain than an iud or pills. Older pills containing levanorgestrel are more likely to cause weight-gain than newer pills containing desogestrel. Protection is important because getting pregnant will make you gain lots of weight!
