Many causes: Certain foods can trigger this. These include spicy food as well as alcohol. There is an ingredient in beer, especially german beer, which causes perianal itching/burning. Rarely, perianal itching/ burning can be due to infection i.E pinworm. Finally, hemorrhoids frequently cause burning and itching during and after defecation. If you see any blood in the stool, contact your doctor immediately.

Is it unsafe to pick up dog poop in pregnancy?

Dr. Ruth Crystal
Obstetrics and Gynecology 27 years experience
No: Pregnant women should not pick up cat feces as it can carry toxoplasmosis which can be harmful to an unborn baby. Wear gloves when gardening and wash hands after because the soil may contain toxo from cat feces. Dog feces usually does not have toxoplasmosis. That said, i would recommend using a plastic bag to pick up the dog poop and would wash my hands as soon as possible.

Why is my 2 year old daughters stool always a shade of green? I rarely give her juice or food coloring so it cannot be the dye...

Normal!: It is not uncommon in some children. If the stool is formed , child is growing i would not worry about it. It is often from green leafy vegetables, coloring agents in the food or simply due to rapid transit from small intestine to large intestine where it normally is tuned brown.

Great Question: Not even all burn units agree on this. However, i would suggest that you don't pop it, but have it seen by an appropriate specialist.
A 36-year-old member asked:

Why does my butt burn when i poop?

Dr. Richard Rafoth
Gastroenterology 51 years experience
Anal irritation: There are no pain fibers in the rectum so any burning is from the anal opening. Hemorrhoids would be the most common cause but unusual causes such as fissures and tumors can hurt as well.
A 43-year-old member asked:

Could you burn your anus by wiping too much/hard after pooping?

1 doctor answer3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Siamak Milanchi
Colon and Rectal Surgery 25 years experience
Yes: Excessive wiping of the anus and the surrounding skin and particularly using soap or shampoo to clean the anus could irritate and damage the skin and cause itching. Itching by itself causes the urge to wipe the anus and further damage the skin. There is a disease called "Pruritus Ani" (it means itching of the anus) which could be caused by excessive cleaning habits and too much wiping.
