Myocarditis: Myocarditis can occur with minimal or no symptoms. The usual trigger is a virus. Some patients may go on to recover completely, some partially, and some may not recover and have heart failure. Those patients may be diagnosed at a later point in time and the etiology is felt to be a viral myocarditis resulting in heart failure.
