A member asked:

Can cervical spine mri or full spinal mri with contrast detect tracea or windpipe tumours?

Dr. Paul Baez answered

Maybe: Mri's are very focused exams. To get the best quality imaging of the area of interest, the field of view is limited as much as possible. The trachea may have been included, but not necessarily. You should speak with your doctor or the radiologist that read the study and ask them to look at the trachea. If it is seen, they can answer your question and if not they can recommend another test.
