Be careful!: It's very hard to deplete glycogen stores (unless you are on a zero carbohydrate suicidal diet) extreme physical stress may, however, cause a release of myoglobin (muscle protein) into the blood, and myoglobin is very toxic to the kidneys; it may cause acute renal failure, and one of it's signs is -- very low energy. Be careful!
