A member asked:

Triglyceride v. high (9mmol) but active lifestyle. what cardio tests should be done to check for issues- ecg normal. consulting endocrinologist only..

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TG and heart: Generally patient with high triglycerides alone don't need a cardiac work up unless they have symptoms that suggest heart disease like cardiac chest pain at rest or with exertion. It is usually recommend that patient with tg greater than 5.65 mmol/l be put on a fibrate like Fenofibrate which you currently on. It is also a good idea to make sure your TSH is normal given your hypothyroidism.
