Is upper tespitairy infection. contagious?

Yes.: Most upper respiratory infections are contagious. The best way to prevent spread is to wash your hands or use alcohol based sanitizer frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, and if you do have a cough, do it into your sleeve and not your hand.

URI's are contagious: Person to person spread is the most common way people develop upper respiratory tract infections (uri's). Secretions carrying the virus (and sometimes bacteria) are transferred by touching a hand to the nose and mouth or by inhaling droplets from an affected person who is sneezing or coughing. This is why hand hygiene and covering coughs and sneezes is important when you have a cold.
