A member asked:

12 yr son has spiral fracture of tibia doc says non displaced but not completely stable, if becomes displaced will require surgery how likely is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Usually initial degree of displacement is the worst. Should be ok in cast. Needs to have serial xrays. Needs moderate displacement for surgery in a 12 year old.
