A member asked:

Is it normal to pass tissue-like things on first period day? they don't look like clots. just dark red stringy tissue

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Menstrual fluid: This may be normal menstrual bleeding mixed with thickened vaginal mucous; however, if you see thick red-black clots that look like jelly- see your gyn for a pelvic examination. If you have missed a menstrual cycle, you must be checked for pregnancy.
