Strep or viral: The kids with sore throats eventually get over symptoms ; feel better if treated or not.Motrin helps most feel better. However, complications of untreated strep include heart, kidney or brain injury ; the risk of spreading it to others.Having a strep test done ; getting treatment if positive within 9 days of initial fever can stop most complications.
