Not necessarily: The pills will prevent you from getting pregnant, while you take them as prescribed, but your bleeding pattern may be off for a cycle or two, ie., even while you are on the active pills, you may experience bleeding. Do not let that keep you from stopping/skipping pills. If the cycle is still irregular in 3 months, re-evaluate.
