Associated symptoms would make a big difference on the next steps in evaluation and treatment. The bottom line, go see your doctor for evaluation, especially if this is persisting.

Multiple causes: Its difficult to give a great answer with limited data. many things can cause metallic tastes. Medications, foods, hormonal changes all can alter taste perception. High metal levels in foods and water can cause a metallic taste. It is possible that it could be from a metal of a crown or washout of a crowns cement. Start with a physician to start ruling out possible systemic causes

Different things: The taste might be a symptom of gum disease. Even if you don't have gum problems, poor oral hygiene can affect taste. Be sure to brush your teeth carefully at least twice a day and use a tongue scraper to remove the bacteria and debris that can collect on your tongue. Dental work done in the past can break down and alter taste. Blood can also have a metallic taste. Some medications taste metallic.

Metal taste: I would suggest looking at your medications and supplements to see if any of these could cause this and also visit a dentist if you have any fillings.
