Secondary Amenorrhea: If you have not had a menstrual period for three months when previously was normal this is considered secondary amenorrhea, or absence of menstrual cycle. This can be caused by many reasons: pregnancy is the most common so consider retesting. Others include problems with thyroid hormone, excessive exercise, and eating disorders. Consult with your family doctor for work up for those disorders.
