Carotid receptors : Patients may develop cardia arrest from any kind of surgery. Regarding to solar surgery ( tonsillectomy ) since anatomically are located close to carotids , it may cause mechanical pressure on carotid receptors and cause bradycardia and possibly arrest. It's not very common anyway...
