Carefully: I'm hopeful that the reason you want to is to find support and help. Whomever you choose, I'd try to include these ideas: I trust and value you. I have a problem that I want to deal with and I'd like help with. I hope this will not be too frightening or be a burden. I'd like YOU to know that I admire you for asking. I hope you do well and feel that you can. Best wishes as you do!

A good teacher: Will bring it to the attention of the school counselor or nurse. Hopefully, your parents or guardian would also be involved. If you feel that the only person you are comfortable telling right now is your teacher - then by all means tell your teacher. You need to share this with a responsible adult. But don't expect any responsible person to keep it a secret. They will want you to get assistance.

If you feel it is: Necessary to and if you assess that she is a safe and empathic and understanding person to talk to then I do not see any problem in doing so. Most teachers by now I have had quite a bit of experience with students who self harm. Best wishes.

SOMEONE TO LISTEN: Put embarassment and shame aside and speak plainly. A real expert will ask all sorts of questions to find its origin, purpose and its place in your life. If it truly endangers you work this out immediately. Find a really experienced psychotherapist and find out what's happening.
