Diagnostics: By seeking professional help. Don't self diagnose this on your own, take advantage of professional help to determine what is truly occurring in your situation.

The trio: Pain, swelling, and bleeding are the most immediate signs and symptoms of a broken jaw. If your jaw is dislocated (out of place) you might notice that your teeth do not meet up normally, and your bite feels strange and changed. Regardless, this is a serious medical condition and immediate medical attention is required.
