A member asked:

When should another dose of medicine be given to a child after he vomits the first dose?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Which Medication?: If your child cannot keep anything down, it may be a waste of time to administer any oral medication. However, the first question is what medication are you trying to administer? Is it necessary? If your child cannot keep down any fluids, you may need to take a trip to the E.R. To make sure he/she gets IV fluids. Children, especially younger/smaller children can become dehydrated very quickly.
