Get it looked at: Severe, truly severe, back pain needs to be evaluated by a physician. Likely a musculoskeletal condition, but other more dangerous conditions need to be ruled out.

Spineuniverse.com: Look up the above address and find flexion exercises for the low back. Do these gently. Williams flexion exercises help people greatly with low back pain. See your family md for evaluation and assistance if it can't be better with conservative treatment. Try nsaids, rest, and ice or heat.

Sorry to hear: That. If that pain is too severe, go to the er. Also, if you have any bowel or bladder issues with it, also go to er. Keep walking and moving as long as it does not make the pain worse. Gentle stretching, again unless it makes it much worse. Stay hydrated, try over the counter Ibuprofen if this medicine is appropriate for you. Most importantly, get the correct diagnosis to target treatment.

Low Back Pain Recipe: 1. Rest 2. Nsaids scheduled x 2 weeks with food. 3. Heating pad (electric plug in wall kind) to low back. Usually acute low back pain resolves in 6 weeks time - if this persists longer, you should get an xray/mri after consulting with an orthopedist.

Depends: If this is new, especially if it's related to a fall or trauma, then you need to be seen by your doctor or the er right away. If this is a chronic problem, then the most effective therapies are intense exercise daily, core strengthening, hamstring flexibility, and a healthy anti-inflammatory diet. Occasionally a change in footwear or your mattress can help too.
