Usually in cirrhosis: When the patient has severe cirrhosis and liver function is being lost if a compatible liver is available the end results are not bad considering need for immune suppression. When hep b and c induce malignant growths in the liver, it is best to with microwave ablation of tumor. If liver transplant done there is a possibility of recurrence from immunosuppressiont.
