Why do i need a transvaginal ultrasound. is this necessary?

Ultrasound: There is not enough information to answer your question. Are you having any symptoms? Are you at risk for ovarian or other pelvic problems? Best course is to ask your doctor why they are ordering the test, maybe it is just a "screening" type of exam.
