Colonic inflammation: This is an auto-immune inflammation of the colon. It can occur at any age but is more common in teen years and young adult years. It has great variability but the typical symptoms are urgency, frequent trips to the bathroom, blood and mucus in runny stool. It can flare up and be life threatening in some cases. Medication and surgery are available and most have reasonable response.
