A member asked:

Is there anything i can do about acute pain after a year of treatment of cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: most pain related to cancer is due to the effect, not so much from drugs but from surgery. Depending on the area, if on palpation one defines a specific site of pain, it should be blocked with novacaine and kenalog (triamcinolone) (steroid). This usually works well. If a tender lump is felt, there is a good chance a neuroma has developed and this may have to be resected. At times an area is helped by a patch
