Rare: Orchitis, inflammation of testis, is a common complication of mumps after puberty, but sterility rarely occurs.

Rare: This is almost never cited as a problem when males have this in childhood.For some reason the immature status of the structures makes it resistant to any damage. In the late teen or adult years it is possible but rare.
