A member asked:

How can you test whether a child is allergic to some foods such as peanuts, shellfish, etc?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Allergy test: There are two major kinds of allergy testing, blood specific ige and skin test. Skin testing integrates several allergic mechanisms including blood specific ige. However neither has proven to be 100% accurate, and often a medically supervised oral challenge is necessary.
