Early pregnancy: One can find pregnancy related hormones in a woman's blood stream before one can establish the she actually has a viable implanted pregnancy. This is called a chemical pregnancy. The pregnancy may not survive even a few days so she "mensturates" at her normal time and never realizes that she was pregnant.
