TESTING: Your primary care doctor can refer you for 'neuro-psych' testing. These tests are usually done after a brain injury but can be done to 'get a baseline' function.

Testing: Usually a psychologist or neuropsychologist with experience in diagnosing childhood learning disorders can easily accomplish this. As with most diagnoses, good clinical history is a start, but developmental and academic history is also important. An iq test, achievement testing, and processing tests are used, though additional tests may be suggested to rule out adhd, language disorder, etc.
