Likely, yes: But it's not "the flu". Its a different virus, but it causes a lot of vomiting and watery stools. The problem I have is the complaint of "terrible abdominal pain". There are many other worrisome things that can cause severe abdominal pain. I think if the pain is truly severe, this should prompt you to go to an er for further workup.
