May be serious: Pain behind one's calf, and without an instance of injury are other explanations and is painful all the time can be a very serious condition. Maybe thrombophlebitis or thrombosis, this is essentially blood clots. If this is the case, pain all the time at rest or with activities, you should go be seen immediately.
