Trismus?: After a dental procedure you may experience pain and fear to open your mouth. In some cases depending on how difficult the procedure the temporomandibular joint( which is located between the ear and upper mandible or jaw) may be irritated and cause pain especially upon opening your mouth. To check for other potential complications it is recommended that you get checked with your provider.

Followup w/ dentist?: Did u ask your dentist about this? I would start there. If associated with fever, stridor, dyspnea, inability to swallow, chest pain, or other symptoms then see a doctor or go to er.

The most common: complication after wisdom tooth extraction is trismus, or tightness in the jaw muscles. Soft food, moist heat and NSAIDs OTC can solve this problem. If concerned see your surgeon.
