A member asked:

What is coronary artery disease -- hypertension?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Easy one: Coronary artery disease is the build up of atherosclerotic fat plaques in the arteries of the heart. These can partially block blood flow to the heart muscle causing angina or block completely and cause a heart attack. Hypertension is high blood pressure which can be caused by a variety of medical conditions.
