There are currently: 140 women who have been the victims of female genital mutilation. It is actively practiced in 28 countries in africa & the middle east (as well as some asian countries). It is practiced in egypt, ethiopia, nigeria, djibouti, somalia, sudan, eritrea, somalia, guinea, mali, sierra leone, gambia, burkina faso, mauritania, liberia, malaysia, yemen & indonesia. Ethnic minorities in oman, iran, iraq use.
