Can emotional stress have an increasing effect on you esr, or does it have to be inflammation from another source?

See below: Esr or sed rate is an acute phase reactant test c/w inflammation, but is clearly nonspecific. Emotions can be secondary to the underlying disorder causing ESR elevation, but stress does not affect the lab result. If your neck nodes are enlarged, the sed rate would likely rise due to the underlying cause.
