A member asked:

Are pelvic tumors, like malignant ovarian tumors, genetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To some extent: Almost all tumors have a genetic component in that heredity plays a role in the susceptibility to cancers. In the case of ovarian cancer there are a few well characterized genetic markers that portend higher incidence, e.g., brca 1 and brca 2.
