A member asked:

Estrogen pills clears up pigmentation, why is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Estrogen/pigment: After one's 30's , the estrogen produced by the ovaries increases, which makes pre-menstrual syndrome and heavy periods, cramps, etc., increase in severity. If one take low dose oral contraceptives, the ovarian production of estrogen is stopped, and the small amount of estrogen in the pill lowers the contribution to pigmentation.
