Small meals: Heart burn is often caused by stomach acid in the esophagus. Reducing the meal size, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, not eating right before bed time can all help. If the pain persists, it can lead to or be a sign of a more serious problem that should be evaluated by your family doctor.
