Not exactly sure: What you mean, as in body/muscle control? If so, as you come closer and closer to maximal effort much of your energy/concentration goes into just gross movement/power production rather than fine muscle control/dexterity. It's like on a treadmill, when you are walking at 3 mph it's easy to dance around the running board, at 10 mph+, it's a totally different story.
