Not necessarily: Fetal hydrops just means excess fluid in a baby's body. It can result from a variety of conditions, including severe anemia and heart failure. It is extremely serious, and frequently fatal, but if the underlying condition that caused the hydrops can be treated, a baby with hydrops can survive.
