Confirm the infectio: You need to first be sure the infection is strep by test and culture. The main reason we treat strep throat is to prevent the consequences, mainly rheumatic fever in kids 5-15 and glomerulonephritis in people between 7-35. A urine test could help on the second one. Otherwise it's not a major health concern
