Contac Capsules: It was my understanding that OTC Contac capsules were taken off the market because they contained potentially dangerous doses of belladonna alkaloids such as atropine and homatropine. These compounds were intended to dry up secretions which they did very well. However, belladonna alkaloids are potentially dangerous, especially as an OTC medications.
